MS Commercial Real Estate Capital Ltd

MS Commercial Real Estate Capital Ltd was founded in 2012 by Michèle Small.

Until July 2012, Michèle was the Acting Director and Senior Banker of the Property and Tourism team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In this role, she was primarily responsible for overseeing the EBRD’s commitments to the sector.

​Over the last 16 years, she has implemented, structured and led the underwriting and implementation of several transactions (debt, mezzanine and equity) in the real estate sector in Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Russia and Croatia.   These deals covered all real estate sub sectors and involved the initial assessment, financial and legal due diligence, term sheet negotiation, and closing.  
As the majority of the EBRD projects focused on development, this also involved following the project through the development process and during the operational project in order to ensure an exit (if equity) or repayment (if debt or mezzanine). 
In almost all cases, these were some of the first property deals privately financed in the above mentioned countries. 

​Michèle has also represented the EBRD on the Investment Committees of private equity real estate funds where the EBRD is an LP and on the Supervisory Board of companies where the EBRD is an equity investor.

Michèle holds an MSc in Real Estate Investment from Cass Business School in London and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.  

Michèle was named Professional Woman of the year at EuropaProperty’s SEE awards for 2011.
